Web designers do not lack work to find. They lack a quick way to see which local businesses have a website problem worth fixing. This guide shows how to find them and what to say.

1

Start with businesses that already advertise on Google Maps

A business with a Google Maps listing and many reviews is active and earns money, but its website often lags behind. Search a business type in your city, such as dental clinics in Dubai or boutique hotels in Chennai, and look at the ones with strong reviews and weak sites.

2

Look for problems you can fix in a week

The strongest reasons to contact a business are visible and measurable: the website has no online booking, is not set up for phones, loads slowly, has no HTTPS padlock, or still shows a copyright year from many years ago. Each of these is a concrete thing you can mention in your first message.

3

Write one short, specific first message

Mention the business by name, name one real problem you saw, and offer one useful idea. Keep it under 90 words and give a clear way to say no. A specific observation gets more replies than a general pitch.

4

Rank before you reach out

Contact the businesses with the most problems and the best reviews first. They have the most to gain and the budget to pay.
